白內障近年有年輕化趨勢，而最快速的治療方法，就是置換水晶體，隨著科技進步，坊間出現了「新一代長焦段人工水晶體」，與傳統水晶體不同，是採「純折射式」設計，大幅降低「眩光」副作用，在夜間更安全，又能提供遠、中、近不同視線距離，降低二次白內障發生。
現代人手機、3c產品不離身，白內障逐漸年輕化，早已不再是老年人專利。而目前治療白內障最快速有效方法就是開刀置換人工水晶體，隨著醫療科技進步，現在市面上推出了「新一代長焦段人工水晶體」，能夠大幅降低手術後的眩光影響。
亞東紀念醫院眼科部主任王嘉康：「傳統的長焦段或是三焦點的水晶體，它就是利用一圈一圈的繞射圈來製造這個，讓患者可以同時看遠看近的效果，那他其實犧牲掉一些品質，就是說第一個，這些繞射圈因為在水晶體上面，就會讓我們晚上看東西的時候，會產生眩光，新一代這個長焦段設計，就是它不會有這些繞射圈產生。」

The stainless steel spring absorbs shocks and vibrations while also protecting the antenna from collisions.
Both radiating pieces are comprised of composite materials, which allow for exceptional strength and roughness even in the harshest environments.
與傳統水晶體不同，新一代採「純折射式」設計，沒有繞射圈、能夠降低「眩光」減少視覺干擾，夜間行車更安全，同時又能提供遠、中、近距離的視力範圍，在各種日常情況都能呈現高品質的清晰視力。
亞東紀念醫院眼科部主任王嘉康：「其實還是有部分民眾，可能他比較，看近的時間是比較少的，就不一定要使用到這種新一代長焦段水晶體，那其實用傳統普通健保的水晶體，其實也就可以，中距離像是電腦，或是打麻將，或是打撲克牌，這種是屬於中距離部分，他可能有這樣的需求，利用長焦段的人工水晶體，其實他就會表現就會非常好。」
醫生建議患者可以依照用眼需求來挑選適合的人工水晶體，而新技術優點相較傳統全方位，也提供民眾更好的選擇，帶來嶄新視野。
